24 years ago I gave my mom a kiss and said goodbye until the next day. It was the last time I heard her. I don't have photos of our days, I don't think I have one photo alone with her, I don't have photos of our complicity and love (yes, I have few photos
I was an incredibly passionate architect student and what I wanted was create a city for her and for me to visit her where I could bring all those memories. Then I did it, my final project to became an architect was that place... Many years later, after lived in differents countries and worked as an interior architect (the closest to people), after being a mom, and after having photography as a personal passion, I had a special dream with her, I got a new camera and I signed up back to school, the only class I took that was not a new software was photography, I cried during that first class and I understood I had to do it the rest of my life, from that day I have signed in many classes as I could, I have been reading and photographing every day without stopping, learning and working full-time for my dream and because I believe an archival photo has the most precious value when people left. Becuase I believe in the power of a photo, because I believe that as in architecture the light can create space, in photography the light can keep alive lives. Yesterday, I had another intense dream with her, then I woke up thinking it was 24 years ago the last time I gave a kiss, and I don't have photos...! I feel honored when I can be part of making "A Day in your Life" alive for the rest of your life and for the future generations.
