ByLorena is a contemporary photography company that is built on extensive professional training, cultural experiences, a unique business model, and passion. These combined traits allow Lorena to approach each photography project with the eyes of an architect and the love of modern life and style.
ByLorena works with a variety of clientele including small to large corporations in need of developing a solid and enhanced brand. We also work with families wanting to capture timeless memories. Beyond our exceptional session process, Lorena takes the time to conduct an initial consultation to establish rapport with each client. At this meeting, your vision is discussed, sketched out to perfection, and each detail is planned for shoot day. The vision will be adapted and beautifully assembled to represent the client’s lifestyle.
Her passion is photographing people and their own spaces.
With her background in architecture and interior design, Lorena offers additional services to add to the excitement of your contemporary portrait or photography project. These services include: staging, interior styling, color consulting, and Lorena can even be your personal stylist for the day. Just imagine what kind of day you will have with a professional photographer that brings fun, passion, and life to each shoot.
At the end of each photo session, ByLorena strives for 100% client satisfaction, and it’s only when the images are delivered in person to the client and are used for their purpose, or hand installed, that we consider the session complete. So if you are looking to hire a professional photographer to create beautiful, sophisticated, elegant and natural imagery, ByLorena is the trusted photography partner you need. ByLorena is located in Petaluma (North Bay of San Francisco), and we service all of the Bay Area.

From her early childhood years in Venezuela and summers in Spain, to becoming an architect, interior designer, and a mother, she uses her talents and experiences to create unique, custom and passionate photographic pieces for her clients.
MEET THE ARTIST
Born in Venezuela on a peninsula with the best beaches in the world. She has studied and lived in Caracas and Salamanca, Spain; has called Madrid her home at one point; enjoyed two brief years in Seattle, WA; lived in and loved San Francisco, CA and now resides in Petaluma, the home of many creative people 50 miles North of San Francisco.
She is first and foremost a mother of a six-year-old boy. All of Lorena’s adoration and love are saved for him. He is the most photographed child in the whole world, well according to Lorena. All of his photos can be seen on her Instagram account, @bylorena.
Living in Japan for one year is on her bucket list. The design simplicity of the country is intriguing, and she could eat sushi every day for the rest of her life!
She adores and is inspired by the american designers Charles and Ray Eames an obsession of Lorena's. Lorena dreams of going back to the mid-century and spending one day with them in their home. (You can see the photo on her last visit)
Lorena loves pretty pieces, especially modern and contemporary designed chairs and loves to incorporate them in her projects.
She will always have the mind of an architect, but that of an architect that thinks outside the box, is multidisciplinary, and brings together beauty and functionality.
Patricia Urquiola is her favorite designer. Just wait, Patricia will be famous!
Musée d'Orsay is her favorite museum, probably for that section of impressionist painters on the top floor, and The Reina Sofia for that Picasso masterpiece. Well, both Guggenheim museums are amazing too, even when one is in New York and the other in Bilbao, or even when their architects Frank Lloyd Wright and Gehry are too different. She can't wait to see the finished SFMOMA !
When she is not wearing a scarf, Lorena simply feels naked. -Period
Her favorite perfume is Issey Miyake, and it’s the only fragrance she has used for the last twenty years.
Lattes: it’s all in the preparation. Lorena takes time to ensure her milk is the perfect temperature. No food is cooked without olive oil, at least if it's Asian food (and sometime you may try it).
Lorena writes with a fountain pen she inherited from her mom who was obsessed with calligraphy. Lorena practiced “Palmer calligraphy” every evening when was seven and eight; then as a college student, she did a lot of architect calligraphy, and finally, she developed her unique font. Some corporations have incorporated it into their logos.
Please, never ask her to sing... You would need an insurance company to replace all your windows.
Life is meant to be lived in color! Every two years, Lorena changes her palette.
PINK: the only color considered to represent ByLorena.
What is your color? I can't wait to hear it from you!
